Our story
Our story began in Samarkand, on the old silk routes, with Dumani — a visionary in jewellery whose workshop drew those who understood that a stone is only the beginning.
His son Moses solidified our legacy, designing and creating pieces for royalty and esteemed clients, among them the Czar of Russia and the House of Fabergé. To work alongside such houses was to be held to an exacting standard, and it is that standard, more than any single commission, that passed to us.
Then came the upheavals of WWI and the Soviet Revolution. Assets were lost. Our commitment never wavered, because what could not be taken was the knowledge held in the family’s hands — how a stone should be chosen, how a setting should sit, how a piece should feel when it is finally worn.
Today, the House of Dumani thrives in the USA, where we honour our rich heritage and the legacy of our ancestors. Almost two centuries separate our first workshop from our present one. The distance is considerable; the intention has not changed.
